[edit] Co-op Experiences and Responsibilities:

• Automation Intern, Amylin Pharmaceuticals (2 quarters).
  • Became familiar with the Rockwell FactoryTalk suite used for Automation including Batch, Historian, AssestCentre, and RSLogix 5000.
  • Programmed PLC's using ladder logic.
  • Worked with the validation department to conduct required testing on the automated systems.
  • Wrote various Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.

• System Designer, Pole-Zero, Cincinnati, OH (4 quarters):
  • Designed a temperature controller from beginning to end, starting with designing the circuit board and necessary imputes and outputs.
  • Programmed the firmware for the temperature controller in C, and made it capable to communicate to any one of the products that Pole-Zero had designed, so that it was a “plug and play” temperature controller.
  • Troubleshooted various system parts and became familiar with instruments of the field.
  • Looked into how update the production process by which programs were loaded on the microcontrollers using new programmers; then wrote the work instructions to explain how to use the new equipment.
  • Worked with Visual Basic to edit software that interfaces with embedded systems.
